At MEP Engineers, the success of your project is our passion. We employ a highly skilled staff of professional engineers, project managers, designers, CAD technicians, and administrative personnel. Let us introduce you to our key team members:

Joseph A. Malkoun, PE, CFI-I, CFPE

President, Principal Mechanical Engineer

On January 1, 2019, Joe Malkoun stepped into his new role as President of MEP Engineers. Joe came to us with over 30 years of experience, having designed and managed a wide range of industrial, commercial, and institutional engineering projects including mechanical systems, developing calculation and systems applications, economic analyses, and specification writing.  He has extensive experience in energy engineering, is an Environment of Care expert, NFPA-Certified Fire Inspector-I and Certified Fire Plan Examiner.  In addition to being a registered professional engineer in Michigan, he holds a license in five other states and is registered with NCEES.

Steve Metti, PE, NCEES

Principal Electrical Engineer

Steve is the founding father of MEP with over 40 years experience.  He has served the company for the last 25 years as President, since 1994, and as of January 1, 2019, has decided to dedicate his focus to the electrical engineering field, his area of specialty.  As Principal Electrical Engineer, he oversees electrical engineering design, project management, quality control and client/contract interface.  In addition to being a registered professional engineer in Michigan, he holds a license in ten other states and is registered with NCEES.

Sudha Bhattacharyya, PE, LEED AP

Principal Mechanical Engineer

Sudha is a Principal Mechanical Engineer with over 40 years of experience. He works collaboratively with clients to achieve integrated systems that support the unique requirements of their buildings and the way they use them. As a LEED accredited professional, he specializes in energy efficient and environmentally responsible designs that minimize life cycle cost and maximize occupant health and comfort. Throughout his career, Sudha has shaped design philosophies and solutions for a broad range of buildings including public, institutional, healthcare, higher education, commercial office, and industrial facilities. He has the ability to quickly analyze design issues to find solutions to complex or chronic problems and develop cost-effective results. Besides new construction projects, he has substantial renovation / repair / upgrade experience, often in occupied buildings, where the confines of existing and often unknown conditions constrain the design and installation of new systems.

Marvin Keefover, PE

Electrical Engineering Consultant

Marvin is an electrical engineer with over 40 years experience. He managed the Electrical Department at Albert Kahn for 12 years before starting his own company in 2004, Keefover Consulting, Inc.  He has extensive experience in healthcare, commercial, institutional and heavy industrial design, and has handled over 60 mega projects in energy usage / conservation, facility evaluation, sustainability, life cycle, and code compliance.  Marvin works jointly with MEP on projects requiring short-circuit studies, coordination, arc flash, and load studies.
